To bring the community together and to enjoy a quality musical performance at affordable prices, ensuring that the most vulnerable are able to attend by the provision of transport (with stewards who will ensure people are safely inside their homes at the end of the concert) It is our desire and ambition for this to be totally free of charge. Carers will also ‘go free’ to the concert. We are also working with The HEY Smile Foundation, as our Community Partner hoping that together we can seek out the lonely and vulnerable, to give them the concert as their target to leave their home, who knows some of these could even form friendships as a direct result of attending the concert, now that would be fantastic.
To provide the young people of the East Riding Youth Wind Band with a free of charge, music workshop which will be delivered by the players of the Grimethorpe Colliery Band, thus developing their musical skills and also providing a rare opportunity for the young people to play alongside such talented musicians, at the concert and in front of an audience of an anticipated c.4,500 people. We hope too that by including the young people in the concert , they will be the first act to play , it will both encourage other young people in the audience to perhaps.
To provide much needed funds for our chosen charities, many of them having seen the vital financial support that they require, slowing to unprecedented levels and at a time when the demands on them are ever increasing. All of the monies raised will be used in our local communities.
Local businesses will attend, selling food and drink so boosting their finances , as we are all aware, many of our local food businesses have suffered significantly during Covid).
Hull Sea Cadets and hopefully too, the Police Cadets (tbs – I still need to request this when I meet with the Chief Constable will be in attendance, giving them the opportunity to volunteer at a large event and increase their visibility, raising their profile and to develop their skills.
